Maria Barbosa, Ph.D.
President
Dr. Barbosa has been responsible for strategic research programs in
aggressive major companies. Prior to starting CA Consultants (www.cacobio.com),
she had more than 15 years of broad-based experience including large
pharmaceutical as well as budget restricted biotech firms in increasing
leadership positions. Previous employers include Bristol-Myers Squibb (former
DuPont Pharmaceuticals), CuraGen Corporation and Xencor Inc. She has
consistently demonstrated ability to successfully identify, plan, direct and
accelerate significant drug discovery programs over a wide range of bacterial
and mammalian targets. Dr. Barbosa is the inventor
on U.S. and international patents and has published 30 papers in peer reviewed
scientific journals. She has been the company spokesperson at important
worldwide conferences.
